A board-certified orthopedic surgeon with fellowship training in hip and knee replacement surgery, Dr. Robert Kramer has continued to add new orthopedic advances to his 25-plus years of experience through continued education and active membership in the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Kramer specializes in diagnosing and caring for patients with the following needs:

Dr. Kramer has always provided compassionate care for his patients with great emphasis on their well-being and with a keen regard for the benefits of surgical versus nonsurgical solutions. Preoperative and postoperative visits as well as follow-up visits will always be handled personally by Dr. Kramer. If requested by the patient, Dr. Kramer will include the patients’ family in their care plan.
Dr. Kramer attended Harvard College and Washington University School of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of Minnesota. He received his fellowship training in hip and knee replacement at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland.
Dr. Kramer is on the medical staff of Missouri Baptist Medical Center (Joint Center of Excellence), Des Peres Square Surgery Center, and St. Luke’s Des Peres Hospital. He also sees patients at the Missouri Baptist Medical Center Outpatient Center in Sunset Hills, Missouri (South Lindbergh Road).
Dr. Kramer began his practice in 1989 at Metropolitan Orthopedics, where he served as president until its merger with Orthopedic Associates in January 2017. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, Missouri State Orthopaedic Association, Missouri State Medical Association, St. Louis Metropolitan Medical Society, and St. Louis Orthopaedic Society (past president).
Additionally, Dr. Kramer is an experienced workers’ compensation provider with specialty training in work-related conditions. He sees workers ‘compensation patients from both Missouri and Illinois. Dr. Kramer has extensive experience in doing independent medical examinations and medical-legal record reviews.
