My Comeback Story: Jules L.
About a year ago I was experiencing pain in my left foot below the arch. I saw a PA at another office who diagnosed the problem and sent me to PT. After a couple of weeks with no improvement I saw Dr. Doser for a second opinion. He disagreed with the PA's diagnosis and prescribed a short course of oral steroids and gave me a follow up appointment in one week. Two days before the appointment I felt a sharp pain in my left shin and went back to see Dr. Doser. He diagnosed a ruptured tibialis anterior tendon, scheduled me for an immediate MRI which confirmed the diagnosis. 48 hours later I was in surgery. He wasn't scheduled to do surgery on that day but went ahead and did my surgery explaining to me that this operation needed to be done as soon as possible for it to be successful. Shortly after the cast was removed my wife and I moved to Phoenix where I continued my PT. Dr. Doser said I should recover about 80% function. I feel that I've surpassed that goal and steadily improve to the point that I'm back to walking 5 miles at a time as well as being able to hike the mountains in Arizona. The photo I've attached is of me and some of my family hiking on South Mountain. I am so grateful to Dr. Doser for his timely diagnosis as well as his excellent skill as a surgeon. I'll be 80 in 4 months and so appreciate his help in keeping me active.
