Fellowship-trained hand and upper extremity surgeon Dr. Bell diagnoses and treats injuries and conditions of the hand, elbow, shoulder and wrist. He has undergone extensive training and specializes in nonsurgical and surgical treatment options of the upper extremity, including arthroscopic surgery, injections, nerve decompression and repair, tendon repair surgery and small total joint replacement of the elbow, finger, hand and wrist.
The Troy outreach clinic is a new location for the 61-year-old practice, which also offers superior access to orthopedic care in St. Louis, Bonne Terre, Fredericktown and Shrewsbury, Missouri, as well as in Columbia and Red Bud, Illinois. In addition to the hand and upper extremity care provided by Dr. Bell in Troy, the practice’s ten orthopedic experts also offer specialized care in the ankle, elbow, foot, hand, hip, knee, shoulder and wrist as well as joint replacement, joint revision, orthopedic trauma, podiatry and sports medicine at its other locations.

After earning his medical degree at the University of Missouri in Kansas City, Missouri, Dr. Bell completed an internship in general surgery at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia, and residency training in orthopedic surgery at the University of Missouri in Kansas City, Missouri. He then completed specialty training in hand surgery through a combined fellowship of the University of Virginia and the American Sports Medicine Institute in Charlottesville, Virginia, followed by additional fellowship training in hand surgery and upper extremity sports medicine through the University of Virginia at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Alabama. Dr. Bell is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
