Richard J. Rende, MD
Richard J. Rende, MD is a Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon and Independent Medical Examiner for Orthopedics. Dr. Rende earned his Medical Degree from the University of Illinois Abraham Lincoln School of Medicine. He completed his Internship in General Surgery and Residency in Orthopedic Surgery from St. Louis University, where he served as Chief Resident.
Dr. Rende has co-designed orthopedic tools and hardware including the Dome Inset Patella for Johnson and Johnson, Minimally Invasive Genesis II Total Knee Instruments for Smith and Nephew, and Minimally Invasive PFC and PFC-RP Total Knee Instruments for Johnson and Johnson.
Dr. Rende began practice in 1983 as the Founder and President of Tesson Heights Orthopedics. He is the Former Chief of Surgery at St. Anthony’s Medical Center. Dr. Rende served as an Instructor at several university medical schools, including the St. Louis University School of Medicine. He served as a Team Physician for the St. Louis University Billikens, St. Louis Steamers, St. Louis Storm, St. Louis Ambush, and Soccer Venue for the 1994 US Olympic Festival. In addition to his role at Orthopedic Associates, he is a consultant for Steamboat Medical Group.
Dr. Rende is distinguished as a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He is a member of the Arthroscopic Association of North America, Missouri State Orthopedic Association, and St. Louis Orthopedic Association. Dr. Rende’s research is published in peer-reviewed journals, and he is an invited national presenter and panel member.
