Hit the streets with these fall 2016 St. Louis fun runs, 5K runs, and 10K runs

Labor Day Weekend is the kickstart of race season across the Lou. Donning your favorite pair of ‘go fasters’ and pinning on a race bib is as familiar to St. Louis as October baseball. Whether you’re a ‘Fun Run’ enthusiast or a more focused 5k or 10k warrior, there are plenty of races in all sorts of places to enjoy this fall. Here is a list of some of the more featured fun runs, mini-marathons, and half-marathons happening in St. Louis over the next few months.

Saturday, September 24th @ 9:00 a.m. | St. Jude to End Childhood Cancer Walk/Run 5K (Downtown St. Louis)

St. Jude’s work with battling childhood cancer is reason enough to lace up your shoes and donate to their research. Treatments invented at St. Jude have changed the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to more than 80 percent since opening in 1962. The St. Jude to End Childhood Cancer Walk/Run 5K starts at Ballpark Village on Saturday, September 24th at 9:00 a.m. Click this link to register for the St. Jude to End Childhood Cancer Walk/Run 5K. Even if you’re recovering from an injury and unable to race, please consider a donation to help St. Jude in their cause.

Saturday, October 1st @ 8:00 a.m. | Hero Run half-marathon and 5K (Mascoutah, IL)

The Wounded Warrior Project helps wounded soldiers returning from home from war get the assistance they need for everyday life. The Hero Run is quickly becoming one of the most popular and largest races in the greater St. Louis area. Head to Scheve Park in Mascoutah, Illinois to enjoy a great race lined with American flags and wrapping up with food and drinks, live music, bounce houses, and a rock wall. Saturday-Sunday, October 15th-16th @ 7:00 a.m. | Rock 'n' Roll St. Louis half-marathon and 5K (Downtown St. Louis)

The sixth annual Rock ‘n’ Roll half-marathon and 5k comes back to St. Louis on October 15th-16th. The 5K will start at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 15th and the half-marathon starts on Sunday, October 16th @ 7:00 a.m. Local bands will line the course and runners race towards a complimentary beer at the finish line. This year’s medals are blues-themed to honor St. Louis’ rich history of great blues music. Check out more race information and sign up via this link.

Saturday, October 22nd @ 8:00 a.m. | Trick or Trot 5K (O’Fallon, MO)

The St. Charles County Family Resource Center is sponsoring the 2016 Trick or Trot 5K in O’Fallon, MO on Saturday, October 22nd starting at 8:00 a.m. It’s a great race to enjoy as a family as you get ready for fall festivals and Halloween. Register for the Trick or Trot 5K here and enjoy a race for building better families in the future.
